ENGLISH VERSION Volunteering in a World Centre is a big challenge. For starting, you go away from your home, from your friends, from your work, away from the safety of the things you already know. As if that was not enough, you are going to live and work with a bunch of strangers, people that you don’t know, people that don’t know you, that has different ways of doing things, every one of them with a special point of view and a different previous experience. Different countries, different ages, different personalities. Could you imagine how hard is to agree on something?? Fortunately despite all the differences that we have, we have one thing in common, and it’s a very important one: Guiding A Guide is friend with everybody and sister of all the Guides in the world, and here you can count on that. Every day here is a new experience, and you get to exercise you humility by learning things from your co volunteers and from all the staff members and what each one of them has to contribute. You get to exercise your empathy, respecting every point of view and working hard in order to make them flow in harmony in the same direction. You get to learn a little bit more about the different ways of being generous, you learn that generosity is not only a posture but also a whole way of living. Each participant that arrives at Our Cabaña, every volunteer and all the staff, we all play by the same rules, and getting the chance of experience that opens your eyes to a wider vision of our Movement. Fellowship, empathy, humility, generosity and service attitude: that’s the kind of people that I want to be surrounded by and that’s the kind of person that I want to be. That’s Guiding around the world.
ENGLISH VERSION Mexico is a country where any Latin that is not Mexican can accept as its second home, for example, Venezuelan share many customs with Mexicans, and that makes you feel at home ... Usually the Mexican is hospitable and pleasant, humble of heart, friendly, noble and generous... Mexico is a welcoming place for anyone who is here... Making friends in Mexico is easy... The food is delicious, although I don't like spicy food, and I know it's strange because I'm in Mexico and I have to eat spicy, but not everything is perfect, and everything is a matter of custom or tolerance (to the spicy)... It must be that Mexicans add spice to their baby bottles Its climate is pleasant in general, because there are no extreme climates as in other places... Sometimes the height is a little unbearable, especially for those whose height is the level of the sea, like me... I repeat, everything is a matter of custom and acclimatizing... I have had several experiences in Mexico, in different places with different people and each time gets better... Thanks Mexico and all the Mexicans that I have found in each one of adventures, because every time I visit it they receive me with open arms...
